We will examine the structure and function of different varieties of animal teeth.
I will identify animal diets by analyzing their teeth.

Herbivore They eat plants and have teeth which are shaped to squash and grind plants.
Omnivore They eat both plants and meat and have different types of teeth to help with both jobs – long pointed teeth rip meat, while flat teeth grind plants.
Incisors The sharp teeth at the front of the mouth that are specialized for cutting.
Canine teeth The pointed teeth next to the incisors. They may be quite enlarged in carnivores (see tiger above)
Premolars These are grinding teeth at the back of the mouth.
Molars These are grinding teeth at the back of the mouth.
