National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) An agency of the U.S. federal government responsible for the civil space program, aeronautics (flight) research, and space research.


Artemis Program A Moon exploration program led by NASA that intends to reestablish a human presence on the Moon for the first time since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.

Lunar Gateway A space station which is planned to be assembled in orbit around the Moon that intends to serve as a communication hub, science laboratory, and habitation module (home) for astronauts as part of the Artemis program.


The Space Launch System (SLS) A rocket used by NASA to transport astronauts and cargo to the Moon as part of the Artemis program.
