2. Introduction to Touch Math
- How would you solve the problems below?
- One way is to start from the bigger dice and tap the dots on the smaller dice while you count.
- In the first example, you would start at three, and touch your pencil to the two dots on the next dice: Counting from 3, then four and five.

- Touch math is a lot like that.
- Because we usually add numbers instead of dots on dice, touch math lets us tap and count directly on numbers.
- Check out the chart below to see how the touch points are placed on numbers.
- REMEMBER, dots inside circles are counted TWICE.
