2. Review: Place value with base 10 blocks.

3. Review: Greater Than, Less Than, Equal
- I think it’s easiest to picture the greater than and less than signs as the mouth of an alligator.
- The alligator only wants to eat the largest number, so he must always face the largest number.
4. Prepare: Greater than/less than with negative integers (numbers)
- Now let’s add negative (-) integers.
- Remember, negative integers, or numbers, are smaller than positive integers.
- So, -4 < 4. Any negative number is smaller than any positive number.
- Also, -4 < 1. Higher negative numbers are smaller than lower negative numbers, because they go farther on the negative side of the number line.
