2. Spotlight on vocabulary:
Fracture means to break. When someone breaks a bone, we say they have a fracture.
So, a fraction is a measure of something (number or an object) that has been broken apart.

5. Optional: Divide candy into equal groups.
- Partition equal shares of a Kit Kat or Hershey bar to a small group at your table.
- You could also divide small candies like M&Ms by passing one out to each person in turns (like dealing cards) until they are gone. See if your piles look like they are the same amount. Count and compare.
