2. Money Math: Using Multiplication and Division In the Real World

• Unit price is the average price of a product. 
• It helps when you’re comparing prices, to use the same measure with all the things you’re comparing.

• Sometimes sales promotions can make it confusing to compare prices.
• We can use multiplication and division to find out how different items’ prices stack up.

HINT: Remember our word problem clue charts to know how to set up your problem:

To find out how much money each ounce costs, we will divide.

Buying in bulk is usually less expensive, but we can see that the big box of cereal is actually more expensive per ounce in this case.
