We will measure ingredients for a recipe.

I will prepare a layered cookie mix in a mason jar.

3. Prepare cookie mix in a mason jar.

Ingredients:

Instructions to assemble:

  1. Combine 3/4 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. Pour flour/baking soda/salt mixture into your clean, pint size glass jar. Gently pat the bottom of the jar with your hand to make sure the flour mixture is level.
  3. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips to the jar on top of the flour mixture.
  4. Add 1/4 cup packed brown sugar as the next layer.
  5. Measure out 1/3 cup granulated sugar and add to the top.

Instructions to decorate your jar:

  1. Place a cloth square between the two pieces of the lid.
  2. Wrap a ribbon around the lid.
  3. Attach the direction tags sheet with string.
