In the past few years, there have been big changes to nutrition labels in the U.S. For one, the calories label has gotten a lot bigger and easier to see:

Calories These measure how much energy a food produces in the body. Extra energy can be stored in the body as fat.

Carbohydrates These are sugars found in foods that produce a lot of energy. They include potatoes and grains.

Protein This builds your muscles. It is found in meats, seeds, eggs and nuts.

Fat This is an energy source for the body and contains the most calories of any nutrient. These can be healthy or unhealthy.
