Cold Climate Animals Version 2: No Sew Craft

TEKS & Objectives

8.1 Earth and space. The student knows that climatic interactions exist among Earth, ocean, and weather systems

7.10.A Observe and describe how different environments, including microhabitats in schoolyards and biomes, support different varieties of organisms

We will explore how wildlife in the Arctic and Antarctic adapt to their winter environment.

I will create a model of an arctic hare or a penguin.

1. Learn about the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

2. Create an arctic hare OR a penguin.

If you’re making an arctic hare, you can also string pipe cleaner segments through pony beads to make a different type of nose.

Don’t take your animal hare home yet! We will giftwrap it tomorrow.

3. While you are painting, check out more arctic facts.

Speaking of penguins…

Why should you NOT write a book on penguins?

Because it’s much easier to write a book on paper.

4. Arctic Animals II
