We will explore the perception of time and how it changes.

The video isn’t important; it’s a timer.
Count on your fingers or a piece of paper how many times you can recite the alphabet before the video is over and your time runs out. For an extra difficult challenge, try the Pledge of Allegiance instead.

Was it easy or difficult to say the alphabet while a distracting video and music were playing?
The timer was set for one minute, which is 60 seconds.
One second is about how long it takes to say “Mississippi,” so you might be able to say Mississippi 60 times in one minute.
Think about how many times you could say the alphabet in one minute.
Did it feel like a minute or did it feel a longer or shorter time?
What about the weekend days? Do they feel like they pass faster or slower than weekdays?
Think about the way you experience time. Time is constant (always measured the same), but can feel faster or slower depending on what we are doing.
