7.1 Organisms and environments. The student knows that there is a relationship between organisms and the environment. The student is expected to:
7.10.A observe and describe how different environments, including microhabitats in schoolyards and biomes, support different varieties of organisms
We will explore how different animals are adapted to get food, water and shelter from various habitats.
I will identify animals belonging in various habitats.

Forest This habitat has many trees.

Jungle This is a warm habitat with lots of trees and rain to help them grow. These have even more trees and plants than a forest.

Arctic This is a cold habitat where almost everything is frozen. Most of it has snow and ice on the ground.

Desert This is a dry, hot habitat with very little rain. It is often covered in sand.


3. View five habitats.
- Imagine different animals that would live in each habitat.
- Draw them on the touch screen.
- As you switch slides, remove the animals that don’t belong in the next habitat and add new ones.
