Decomposition The process by which dead plants and animals are broken down into soil over time by decomposers.
Scavenger This is an animal that finds and eats dead animals that they did not kill.
Primary Consumer This is an animal that relies on producers for most of their energy. They include insects, small birds and small mammals. They are herbivores.
Secondary Consumer This is an organism that relies on producers AND consumers for their energy. They are carnivores and omnivores.
