Light source is an object that can give off light. The sun, a campfire and lightening are all light sources.
Opaque is an object that light cannot pass through; it makes a shadow.
Translucent is an object that light can pass partially through; it makes a light shadow.
Transparent is an object that light can pass through; it does not make a shadow.

4. Shine a laser pointer through gummy bears.
- A red laser beam from a pointer should go through a red gummy bear.
- A green gummy bear will block the red light; it won’t pass through.
- Repeat the demonstration if you also have a green laser pointer.
