Review how place value works with paper currency.
Now, let’s get in pairs and play a game of Money Roll.
Instructions:
- Use play money to play the game Money Roll.
- You use a mat as your playing surface (linked below)
- Start on the right side of the board and work your way to the left.
- Roll dice or use a dice generator (lined below)
- Whatever you roll, collect that much money in ones.
- Check to see if you have more than 10 ones. If you do, exchange 10 for a $10 bill and keep the rest of the ones.
- Keep your money in their columns and keep making change as you roll on your turn
- You win when you get to $100. There are 10 $10 bills in $100.
- Play several rounds, racing against a partner or on your own.
