I will demonstrate the effectiveness of handwashing by using experimental materials acting as germs.

Bacteria These are a type of single-celled organism found almost everywhere on Earth. Some kinds are good for people and other kinds oare bad for us.
Virus This is a nonliving protective shell with genetic matiral insde of it. They come in differetn shapes.
Antibiotic This is a medicine that is used to treat bacterial infections.
Vaccine This is a medicine that helps prepare the immune system to fight infection.
3. Collect and graph germs with Roly.
4. Test how well you wash your hands.
This special lotion glows under a blacklight. You can compare what your hands look like when you’ve rubbed the lotion on them with how they look after you’e washed your hands. Are there any glowing spots left?
Alternate: Simulate the journey of germs.
Have someone sprinkle glitter on their hands, and then shake hands with other students. How far does the glitter go? How many peole got glitter on thier hands. When you wash your hands, is it easy ot get all the glitter off, or is it a bit tricky? What does this tell us about germs?
5. Have a beneficial bacteria snack.
